World Challenge XXI Bye InformationScott World Challenge (SWC) qualification rules:All U.S. competitors must qualify for the SWC at a regional event or the U.S. Nationals. If, due to extenuating circumstances they are unable to fulfill this requirement, they may request a waiver in writing to participate in the Wildcard Eliminations. All International competitors are welcome and invited to compete at our SWC. Countries interested in organizing the Firefighter Combat Challenge should make inquires of First Responder Institute and apply for membership in the International Firefighter Challenge Federation (IFCF). Qualification means that the competitor or team may compete during the Wildcard Eliminations at the World Challenge. A specified number of slots in each category are available for the competitors or teams in the Finals (last two days) that run the fastest during the Wildcard days. Tandem Specific Rules Tandem teams must either run and qualify at a regional event, or send a written letter or email specifying the members and the category they wish to run in, more than 30 days prior to SWC (this includes all competitors, U.S. or foreign). SWC Bye Rules Byes are defined as “protected” run slots for the Finals of the SWC. The number of slots available in each category does not change as a consequence of the number of International teams. Every country participating in the SWC, at their election, gets one bye in each of the following categories: Team Male Female Over 40 Over 45 Over 50 Over 55 Relay Over 40 Relay Female Relay Over 50 Relay Male Tandem Female Tandem Over 40 Tandem Over 50 Tandem Co-Ed Tandem International Federation members have the sole authority for identifying their country’s delegation, either through appointment or on the basis of their national championship. If no such body exists, byes will be distributed based on the best respective performance from the previous year's SWC. U.S.-Specific Bye Rules One bye in each of the following categories is given to the winners of Nationals Team Male Female Over 40 Over 45 Over 50 Over 55 Relay Over 40 Relay Female Relay Over 50 Relay Male Tandem Female Tandem Over 40 Tandem Over 50 Tandem Co-Ed Tandem All SWC procedures and interpretation are subject to modification by the administrating staff.
