World Challenge XXI Bye Information

Scott World Challenge (SWC) qualification rules:

All U.S. competitors must qualify for the SWC at a regional event or the U.S. Nationals. If, due to extenuating circumstances they are unable to fulfill this requirement, they may request a waiver in writing to participate in the Wildcard Eliminations.

All International competitors are welcome and invited to compete at our SWC. Countries interested in organizing the Firefighter Combat Challenge should make inquires of First Responder Institute and apply for membership in the International Firefighter Challenge Federation (IFCF).

Qualification means that the competitor or team may compete during the Wildcard Eliminations at the World Challenge. A specified number of slots in each category are available for the competitors or teams in the Finals (last two days) that run the fastest during the Wildcard days.

Tandem Specific Rules

Tandem teams who are not made up from within a team must either run and qualify at a regional event, or send a written letter or email specifying the members and the category they wish to run in, more than 30 days prior to SWC (this includes all competitors, U.S. or foreign).

SWC Bye Rules

Byes are defined as “protected” run slots for the Finals of the SWC. The number of slots available in each category does not change as a consequence of the number of International teams.

Every country participating in the SWC, at their election, gets one bye in each of the following categories:
